  • Description

FastCast Rapid Art & Craft Resin is a two-type high-performance, two-part casting resin designed for ultra-fast curing, making it ideal for time-sensitive projects. With a 10 minute cure time, this resin allows for rapid demoulding, increasing efficiency and productivity in any workshop or production setting.

There are two types of our new FastCast Resin.

    FastCast White

FastCast White is our innovative polyurethane casting resin designed for speed, strength, and precision. Whether you’re a professional maker or a passionate DIY enthusiast, FastCast White is a low viscosity resin that allows you to bring your ideas to life in just 10 minutes. If left unpigmented FastCast White will change colour from beige to white during the curing phase.

    Applications

    • Casting of art & craft articles e.g. figurines, coasters, candleholders and general homeware items
    • Suitable for resin art applications
    • Excellent detail reproduction
    • High quality of surface detail reproduction
    • Low shrinkage and good dimensional  stability
    • High mechanical strength
    • Very short demould time

    FastCast Natural

FastCast Natural is a quick curing casting resin. It is an unfilled two component resin that sets rapidly in approximately 10 minutes. With an easy 1:1 mix ratio by volume or weight, this system has a 2-3 minute working time and a demould time of 10-15 minutes. Applications and attributes:

    Health & Safety

Our resins are 100% synthetic, they DO NOT contain animal parts or any organic content.
No testing is done on animals whatsoever. Our resins are Vegan friendly and cruelty free.

Although our resins are formulated with the most modern and safest polyurethane chemicals available, all polyurethane resins are chemicals and should be managed and handled with proactive safety hygiene and responsible care.

    • Always wear nitrile gloves (or use a specialist resin barrier cream)
    • Wear a respirator when sanding partially cured resin
    • It is advisable to work in a well ventilated room
    • We advise the use of safety goggles
    • Avoid skin contact (if resin gets on skin wash with plenty of soap & water)
    • DO NOT eat, drink or smoke while working
    • In case of eye contamination wash with plenty of water for 15 minutes and consult medical advice immediately

Adding resi-TINT MAX is the only compatible pigment paste. Any other inks/paints/mica powder/glitter will change its properties and may become diluted, affecting the final colour result.

  • Used For & How To Use

    Applications

    • Casting of art & craft articles e.g. figurines, coasters, candleholders and general
    • Suitable for resin art applications
    • Excellent detail reproduction
    • High quality of surface detail reproduction
    • Low shrinkage and good dimensional  stability
    • High mechanical strength
    • Very short demould time

    Application

Apply by hand pouring or brush/roller. FastCast can only be pigmented with resi-TINT MAX - Pre Polymer.

LEVEL: Ensure your piece is perfectly flat and level, otherwise the resin will run to the lowest point leaving too little resin at the corners or run of the edges. Large canvasses should be supported underneath to prevent sagging and resin pooling.

BUBBLES: Any bubbles created by hand mixing can be easily popped by using a sharp object or by passing warm air over the surface of the resin with a blowtorch or hot air dryer on slow speed settings. Do not hold closer than 30cm to your artwork otherwise you risk creating ripples and dimples in the resin finish. If you use alcohol inks DO NOT use a flame to remove bubbles, the alcohol content in the inks is flammable.

    Mixing

By volume: 100 parts resin to 100 parts hardener

By weight: 100 parts resin to 100 parts hardener

    FastCast White – Important Notice

For those using FastCast White, you may notice a white settlement at the bottom of the resin. This is completely normal and is a hygroscopic desiccant designed to prevent moisture from interacting with the resin. Simply shake or stir before use to ensure optimal performance.

The mixing ratio must be accurately followed. It is not possible to change the ratio. This will result in lower mechanical properties and the resin not drying properly. The mixture must be thoroughly stirred to ensure full homogeneity. Polyurethane systems tend to heat up much faster in a pot than as a thin film. Mix only the necessary amount usable within the pot life. Mix until it is streak-free, uniform colour & consistency (usually 1-2 minutes).

    FastCast Natural – Important Notice

For those using FastCast Natural, during the chemical testing we have determined that this resin should be pigmented with resi-TINT MAX - Pre Polymer. Other pigments and powders create a diluted colour finish.
